Julie Chor, MD, MPH

Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Julie Chor, MD, MPH, specializes in patient-centered gynecologic and reproductive healthcare for adolescents and young adults. Dr. Chor’s interests focus on contraceptive care for adolescents and young adults with complex medical conditions, menstrual irregularities, LGBTQIA care and sexually transmitted infection screening and counseling.

Dr. Chor’s is committed to guiding adolescents and young adults through their first gynecologic visit in order to ensure this an educational and non-intimidating experience. She collaborates with colleagues in pediatric and internal medicine specialties to develop programs designed to help adolescents with complex medical diseases effectively transition their medical care from pediatrics to adult treatment

With Dr. Chor’s clinical medical ethics training, she has concentrated her academic research on medical ethics, patient-centered care provision, and trauma-responsive care for adolescents and young adults. She is currently studying the first pelvic examination experiences of adolescents and young adults, particularly LGBTQ individuals, and how best to provide trauma-responsive family planning care.

Additionally, Dr. Chor understands the importance of physician education, and she regularly mentors medical students, residents and fellows, advising them on research and career planning throughout their training.

Laura A. Douglass, MD

Laura Douglass, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. As director of the Transabdominal Cerclage (TAC) Program, Dr. Douglass is an expert in TAC surgery, a procedure that prevents pregnancy loss in patients who have incompetent cervix (a weakened or short cervix). As a mentee of world-renowned gynecologic surgeon and TAC expert Arthur Haney, MD, Dr. Douglass was personally selected by Dr. Haney to lead the TAC Program upon his retirement in 2020.

She also performs a wide range of complex robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, specializing in the treatment of endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian/tubal cysts and Mullerian anomalies. Dr. Douglass is passionate about providing safe, effective care using the least invasive and most individualized surgical approach for each patient’s needs.

She further specialized her practice by receiving international training and mentorship in São Paulo, Brazil, with an emphasis on providing fertility-sparing surgical treatment for women with endometriosis. In 2015, Dr. Douglass assisted in the implementation of laparoscopy in the obstetrics and gynecology department at a medical center in American Samoa.

Shilpa Iyer, MD, MPH

Shilpa Iyer, MD, MPH, is a gynecologist with advanced training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She provides treatment for women with pelvic organ prolapse, both stress and urgency urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary tract infections, and voiding dysfunction. She has advanced training and expertise in vaginal surgery and minimally invasive gynecology techniques, including laparoscopy and robotic surgery.

Dr. Iyer provides care for patients with complex pelvic floor needs, including mesh complications, fistula, and abnormalities of the vaginal and urinary tract. She collaborates closely with colorectal surgery, urology, pelvic floor physical therapy, and gastroenterology to provide comprehensive care for women with pelvic floor disorders as part of our Center for Pelvic Health. She also has a clinical focus on advanced treatments for overactive bladder including Botox (OnabotulinumA) injections and sacroneuromodulation.

Dr. Iyer has additional research training in epidemiology and biostatistics. She leads research within the section with a personal focus on access to care, dissemination of current therapy, and clinical outcome measures. She publishes scientific articles in high-impact journals, mentors trainees, leads national and international workshops, and often presents at scientific meetings. Dr. Iyer is committed to delivering high-quality, cutting-edge care for all patients.

Dana McQueen, MD

Dana McQueen, MD, specializes in reproductive medicine and completed fellowships in both reproductive endocrinology and infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. Dr. McQueen is an expert in vitro fertilization, intrauterine insemination and ovarian stimulation for fertility preservation. She is committed to helping patients develop individualized treatment plans that are specific to their family building goals.

Dr. McQueen is passionate about using research to improve patient care. Her research has focused on risk factors for recurrent pregnancy loss and improving outcomes for in vitro fertilization. She has presented her research both nationally and internationally, and she has been published in highly respected journals, including Fertility and Sterility, Human Reproduction, Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, and more.

Mary Lynn Fayoumi, CAE, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-SCP is the President and CEO of HR Source, a Chicago-based employers’ association with over 1100 member organizations. She is a highly respected speaker, trainer and advisor and an accepted authority on a variety of workplace issues including culture, employment trends, and HR management. Countless organizations have bene_ted from her expertise during her twenty plus years at the association.

Mary Lynn is a prolific writer, quoted and published regularly in a variety of industry publications. She currently serves on the World at Work Board of Directors and is Past Chair of the Board of Directors for both the Association Forum of Chicagoland and the Employer Associations of America. She is also an Advisory Board Member of the Community Memorial Foundation and Family Shelter Service. Mary Lynn is a summa cum laude graduate of the

University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Industrial Relations/Human Resources. She also holds an MBA with Honors from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
